Case Studies

Addressing tobacco prevention in an exciting and innovative way needn't be difficult. These short case studies provide some interesting examples of the broad and diverse range of tobacco prevention activities that have been delivered by youth groups and youth workers in the last few years.

If you would like your tobacco project activity to be included here, simply contact ASH Scotland via enquiries@ashscotland.org.uk

LAYC/NHS Lothian Grants Scheme winners

In 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 LAYC, in partnership with NHS Health Lothian, offered grants to youth groups to develop smoking prevention projects. All kinds of projects were considered – music, video, peer education work – just as long as there was a strong smoking prevention message and it was planned and organised by young people (aged between 11 and 24).

Have a look at what the grant winners have managed to deliver. Why can't your group do something similar?

Charter for a Tobacco-free Generation

Several community youth groups have had their tobacco prevention activity recognised and accredited by ASH Scotland's Charter for a Tobacco-free Generation. Have a look at the Charter case studies to find out what groups like Citadel Youth Centre and Shell Twilight Basketball and Aberdeen Foyer have been doing.
